We build technology in Cape Town, and the ventures that grow from it.
Nasar Labs develops software, reasoning systems and proprietary intellectual property, then builds independent ventures around that work. Founded in Africa and based in Cape Town.

One company underneath, separate businesses on top.
The ventures are the businesses people deal with day to day. The technology underneath them belongs to Nasar Labs, so a system built for one venture can serve the next, and nothing has to be rebuilt each time a new idea comes along.
The separation is deliberate. A venture might change course, merge or close. The parent company, and what it has learned along the way, stays.
We believe technology should expand what people, and the societies they live in, are capable of. Revenue keeps the company going. The point is to build things worth building.
What we work on
Most of this is active today. Hardware is where we're heading rather than where we are.
- Intelligence
- Reasoning systems, applied AI and agent software.
- Software
- Products and platforms built around specific, real problems.
- Engineering
- Infrastructure, systems work, and problems that are hard for technical reasons.
- Hardware
- Physical devices. We're not working on this yet, but we intend to.
- Ventures
- Independent companies that grow out of everything above.
Ventures
Each venture has its own name, its own identity and its own customers. Nasar Labs backs it and supplies the technology.

Technology we own
Alongside the products, we build the systems later products will depend on. The first of these is R.E.N.

R.E.N.
Reasoning Engine Network
An orchestration engine we're building in-house, designed so that the system, not the AI model, is the authority on what happened. It belongs to Nasar Labs rather than to any one product.

Working on something difficult? We'd like to hear about it.
